Sophie

I lost my cat of 15 years in early January. It was like losing a child. Her name was Boo and she was my world. After she passed, the house was very lonely and quiet. I knew that I eventually would get another cat but was not quite sure when. I wanted to wait several months but something told me the longer you wait, the chance you would get another one lessened. Then a good friend told me that you will know when the time is right. My husband told me of Columbus Kitty Rescue. We went by one cold Tuesday night and looked through the windows. I saw so many beautiful cats. They all seemed friendly and came up to the window. I finally decided to go one Saturday morning after a major snowfall and check out the open house. I had no intentions of getting one that day. I was there for about two and half hours and met a very nice and understanding lady named Jen. I told her of my previous cat and she was very compassionate. I had found one cat online that I liked but she was already adopted. Then Jen showed me a cat that they called Baby. She was not a year old and had the markings of a raccoon. She was a bit shy but very calm and loved to be held. I spent some time with her and fell in love with her. I decided to take her home to meet my husband before the adoption was final. Well, needless to say she has not left our house and is officially ours now!! She was a bit shy and has come around a lot in the two weeks we have had her. If anyone wants to adopt a cat that wants a loving home, please come to Columbus Kitty Rescue. I have since named her Sophie!!!
